This is a customizable order form for the GameCube and the various services offered. Please note that all costs listed are for service only, requiring you to ship not only the console but the mod/upgrade parts you have purchased yourself (with exception to the Full Recap Service as I will provide new capacitors from Console5)
GCDUAL Install
This kit uses GCVideo to tap into the DOL-001 model’s digital video signal and outputs up to 480P via the stock digital out port or the newly added HDMI port. Prevents the need of additional adapters or cables that use GCVideo like the Carby V2 or Prism component cables. This service is for the install only, you will need to purchase and send in the kit itself. The kit can be purchased from the following sites:
GCDual Kit – StoneAgeGamer
GCDual Kit – GameTech US
NOTE: This mod only works on original DOL-001 model GameCubes, do not send in a DOL-101 model as I wont be able to install the kit and everything will need to be returned to you
Picoboot Install
Thanks to the use of the Raspberry Pico board, this kit offers an ODE solution for running games off internal storage alongside the optical drive, unlike the GCLoader which requires it’s removal, the best of both worlds! For this, you will need to send in a Raspberry Pico board as well as either an SD2SP2 adapter or SDGecko adapter, along with an SD Card with the size of your choosing. I have found a 400-500GB SD card can hold most of the GameCube library.
You can buy the various parts here:
Raspberry Pico Board – Amazon
Raspberry Pico Board – AliExpress
SD2SP2 Adapter – Amazon
SD2SP2 Adapter – AliExpress
SDGecko Adapter – Amazon
Noctua Fan Upgrade
The stock GameCube fan can be very loud especially if you are modding your system to use an ODE solution like the Picoboot or GCLoader and no longer have the noise of the optical drive running. This will put a 40MM Noctua fan in place of the original, and I will provide a free 3D printed mount at no extra cost. You simply need to select this service and provide the Noctua fan, which can be purchased below:
Swappable Battery Mod
Similar to the Sega Dreamcast, the GameCube relies on a coin cell battery soldered onto the system (in this case, the controller port board) to maintain system time and date. When this dies, the GameCube will prompt you to that information every time you boot the system up and is very annoying. This service will replace the original battery with horizontal battery holder and allow easy replacement in the future with no soldering, simply pop the dead one out and put a new one in. I will include both the holder and a fresh CR2032 in this service cost so you do not need to send anything, just select the service
Full Recap Service
Capacitor failure on the optical drive board is a common issue and reason for many GameCube laser assemblies becoming unable to ready discs reliably or at all. This service also covers the PSU and mainboard caps being replaced, all of which are included in the cost via a capacitor kit from Console5
Full Service Cleaning
After years of heavy use many consoles will exhibit accumulation of dirt, dust and debris and this can not only impact the aesthetic appearance of the system but dirty system components can impact component life and performance. Your console will be completely disassembled and cleaned from the inside out. All PCB and internal electrical components will have dust and debris removed via an electronic air compressor and then be cleaned with 99% isopropyl alcohol and brushed clean. Outer shell and other non-electronic components will be taken apart and soaked in a soap/water mixture and carefully scrubbed to remove stains and debris buildup. Any light markings, scuffs or other blemishes will be safely removed to the best of my ability. Once the console is re-assembled the outer shell will be given a coat of plastic UV protectant to restore shine and prevent UV damage. This also includes new thermal pads on the main chips
