Up for sale I have a nice condition Japanese Sega Saturn Model 2 with the following work/mods done:
– Region Free BIOS. This allows you to play official discs from any region without restriction
– Phantom Universal Modchip. This allows you to play backup/burned discs. When used along with the Region Free BIOS you can essentially play any disc from any region, legitimate or a backup/burned copy
– FRAM Upgrade. This replaces the stock SRAM chip for game saves, meaning your saves are no longer relying upon the CR2032 battery and will be kept safe even if the system is unplugged, battery removed, indefinitely.
– Full Recap: All capacitors on the mainboard, PSU and CDROM (Sanyo) have been replaced with high quality caps from Console5.com
– All mechanically stressed joints have been reflowed to ensure reliable operation, this includes controller ports, AV port and cart slot connector as well as the underside VDP Ram chips.
– System, controller and all related items have been deep cleaned inside and out to remove dust, debris and residue from circuit boards as well as RF Shielding and plastic shell / components.
– CDROM full serviced including gears/rails deep cleaned and fresh grease applied and the lens has been thoroughly cleaned as well.
NOTE: As seen in the photos there is some slight yellowing on the shell and controller, most noticeable on the outer shell as it is a few shades darker than the CDROM Tray cover. This is purely cosmetic but wanted to mention it. I was not able to retrobrite at the time this was worked on as it was weeks of poor weather and I currently do not have an indoor retrobrite station setup
