This is a customizable order form for the Neo-Geo CD systems and the various services offered. Please note that all options listed are for service only, requiring you to ship not only the console but the mod/upgrade parts you have purchased yourself (with exception of the FRAM Upgrade and Full Recap Service as I will provide new capacitors from Console5 and/or FRAM chip from DigiKey)
Neo CD SD Loader Install
Developed by Furrtek, the SD Loader is an ODE for the NeoGeo CD systems that provide the ability to play games off an internal SD card. This provides a path forward for systems with dead optical drives or those wanting to experience the CD library with faster load times, multi-region support, etc while also leaving the drive intact for those systems with a functional one
NOTE: This kit is NOT compatible with the NeoGeo CDZ. I have filtered this kit option accordingly but if you somehow order this using the wrong CD unit style and send me a CDZ, I will not be able to install and will return to you with no refund on shipping so be sure you have a front loader or top loader style NGCD!

NeoGeo CD Unibios Install
Similar to the socketed Unibios mod available for AES systems, Will’s Console Mods developed a BIOS replacement for the NeoGeo CD Systems to give you all the same great features such as cheats, region settings, dip switches, etc. This solder-in replacement chip also brings the CDZ frontend to the older models for CD Playback.
NOTE: I discovered that this Unibios chip is NOT compatible with the Furrtek SD Loader kit, so it has been filtered accordingly, please do not send both of these kits for install together. This is also not needed with the Furrtek anyways as the SD loader replicates most/all of the Unibios functionality!

FRAM Upgrade
Similar to other systems (Sega Saturn, Sega CD) the NeoGeo CD uses an SRAM chip and battery for maintaining save data. Like those other systems, the battery over time can die/lose ability to hold charge and put your save data at risk. While the battery could be replaced, a FRAM upgrade gets you non-volatile memory that doesn’t rely on power to keep data intact offering a safer long-term solution. This service comes with the FRAM chip (1608 64k) and the service of removing SRAM and battery and installing this replacement
Full System Recap
Electrolytic Capacitors have an estimated shelf life of about 15 years and many of these old retro gaming systems are long past that time. Prevent unwanted power, video or audio issues by proactively replacing these in your NGCD system. If your NGCD is already exhibiting issues a failed capacitor could be the culprit and is usually a good first step in the diagnosis and repair. All capacitors will be replaced on the system motherboard with a cap kit from Console5 which I will provide for this service, included in the cost
Full Service Cleaning
After years of heavy use many consoles will exhibit accumulation of dirt, dust and debris and this can not only impact the aesthetic appearance of the system but dirty system components can impact component life and performance. Your console will be completely disassembled and cleaned from the inside out. All PCB and internal electrical components will have dust and debris removed via an electronic air compressor and then be cleaned with 99% isopropyl alcohol and brushed clean. Outer shell and other non-electronic components will be taken apart and soaked in a soap/water mixture and carefully scrubbed to remove stains and debris buildup. Any light markings, scuffs or other blemishes will be safely removed to the best of my ability. Once the console is re-assembled the outer shell will be given a coat of plastic UV protectant to restore shine and prevent UV damage
