This is a customizable order request form for the Nintendo 64 and the various services offered. Please note that all costs listed are for service only, requiring you to ship not only the console but the mod/upgrade parts you have purchased yourself (with exception to the Full Recap Service as I will provide the new capacitors from Console5)
HDMI Mod Install
If you want a digital video output solution to make your N64 look amazing on a modern TV without the need for an analog video upscaler and RGB cable, an HDMI mod taps the video signal directly from the RCP and avoids all analog video noise and routes it through a custom board and out an HDMI port making it easy to move around and hook up to any modern TV set.
There are 2 kit options at the moment, one from PixelFX and one from HiSpeedIDO. Like all things, you get what you pay for. The RetroGEM from PixelFX is much more expensive but also offers a TON of extra features and resolutions. If you plan to use an external HDMI scaler like the Morph4K or RetroTink 4K I recommend the RetroGEM Basic as you can use its native “Direct Video” mode and save money on the Shiny upgrade while getting perfect native res digital out and let the scaler do the work. If you want the best/highest possible resolution and scanlines without needing a scaler, the Shiny edition of the same RetroGEM kit is the best you can buy.
The HiSpeedIDO is a budget option but if you are just looking to get a cleaner compatible HDMI signal to any TV using 2 standard resolution options (720P and 1080P) their kit will get the job done.
Both kit options are available here once you choose which one fits your needs:
PixelFXÂ – RetroGEM N64 Kit
HiSpeedIDO – N64 HDMI Kit – RetroGameRepairShop
HiSpeedIDO – N64 HDMI Kit – AliExpress
RGB Mod Install
If you want the best possible analog video out from your N64 to an upscaler or modded CRT/PVM/BVM an RGB upgrade will get you the best possible image plus depending on which kit you buy, bonus features like deblur, in-game reset, etc.
Earlier revisions on the N64 allow RGB to be tapped from the board and routed to the multiout for a cheaper and more cost effective solution that will still offer razor sharp RGB, for use with “basic” RGB amps like the one from Voultar, Borti, etc. Later revision N64 require a more comprehensive kit that taps the signal at the DAC chip and routes to a custom board then to the multi-out. These kits also offer features like deblur and IGR, etc. Advanced RGB kits can be installed on ANY revision N64 whereas the basic amp kits only work on earlier revision models. Be sure to choose appropriately based on your requirements and your console revision
N64 RGB mod kits can be purchased from the following locations:
Voultar Basic RGB Kit – Voultar.com
Borti’s Basic RGB Kit – Arthrimus.com
Tim Worthington Advanced RGB Kit
Borti’s Advanced RGB Kit – RetroUpgrades.com
Full System Recap
Electrolytic Capacitors have an estimated shelf life of about 15 years and many of these old retro gaming systems are long past that time. Prevent unwanted power, video or audio issues by proactively replacing these in your N64 system. If your N64 is already exhibiting issues a failed capacitor could be the culprit and is usually a good first step in the diagnosis and repair. All capacitors will be replaced on the system motherboard with a cap kit from Console5 which I will provide for this service, included in the cost.
Full Service Cleaning
After years of heavy use many consoles will exhibit accumulation of dirt, dust and debris and this can not only impact the aesthetic appearance of the system but dirty system components can impact component life and performance. Your console will be completely disassembled and cleaned from the inside out. All PCB and internal electrical components will have dust and debris removed via an electronic air compressor and then be cleaned with 99% isopropyl alcohol and brushed clean. Outer shell and other non-electronic components will be taken apart and soaked in a soap/water mixture and carefully scrubbed to remove stains and debris buildup. Any light markings, scuffs or other blemishes will be safely removed to the best of my ability. Once the console is re-assembled the outer shell will be given a coat of plastic UV protectant to restore shine and prevent UV damage. Additionally, new thermal pads will be placed on the 3 heatsinks of the N64

Want to add some unique flair to your N64? I can swap out the stock Red LED to a color of your choosing at no extra cost as a bonus on top of other service items! Just choose a color from the list!
